Milling for Pavement Resurfacing
When an asphalt pavement surface deteriorates to the point of needing repair, an asphalt overlay is an effective solution. A standard asphalt overlay consists of a new layer of asphalt applied over the existing asphalt surface. The thickness of an overlay is typically 1 - 2 inches. Based on customer needs, condition of asphalt, volume of traffic, and light duty to heavy duty asphalt pavement are a few of the factors that will determine the repair. The existing asphalt surface may be milled if grades need to be maintained or altered. Milling is a process by which a machine is used to plane the pavement surface to an appropriate depth before it is covered with the new layer. Once the milling is finished and the overlay is completed, the customer is left with a new surface, ready for pavement marking.

Parking Lots

Rabine Paving’s team of engineers and project managers identify all of the pavement areas of your project including customer parking (light duty paving) and truck docks and drive lanes (heavy duty paving).

The condition of the existing asphalt and drainage are taken into consideration while taking note of the drive lanes and service areas which may be very deteriorated– where as employee parking may not be as deteriorated.

Repairs could involve patching, overlaying existing pavement, or completely removing and replacing the pavement.

Each customer has their own wants and needs for their specific paving project.
Traditionally thicker asphalt is used for heavy duty areas or helped with full depth pavements versus the light duty traditionally pavement where the customers park.

Another consideration with asphalt failure is wet based solution to this problem are under drains which help channel water to alleviate this problem.

Rabine Pavement Management (RPM) is complimentary process which includes an in-depth analysis of your existing pavement and drainage conditions, identification and prioritizing of your long term pavement and construction needs, detailed budget for up to five years and clearly defined specifications for work to be performed.

Roadways

Roadway repairs vary from public to private road’s, from potholes to shoving and heaving, to complete failure. Determining the asphalt lifetime, volume of traffic, existing asphalt condition, base to sub-base conditions, are all considered when repairing or replacing roads.

Crack filling, patching, milling to stabilization, pulverizing, reclaiming and overlaying, these are all forms of roadway repairs we are capable of doing.

From small subdivision road paving to highways, Rabine Paving can handle all phases of work. We have IDOT training and the equipment to pave most any project. We utilize several pavers in our fleet capable of widths from 8’ to 20’ feet wide in one pass. Keeping up with technology we use a touchless ski system’s on our road pavers, this allows us to be more precise and productive on all our job sites.

Having the capabilities to do our own milling we can offer various alternatives to road repairs on private roads and subdivisions. Our road services include a full spectrum from milling off a surface lift and replacing, to full depth patching and overlaying. Using the mill allows for a quick and clean removal without disturbing the base, allowing better quality control and efficiency when dealing with road repairs.
