A recent decision by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to extend its alternative bid criteria for some non-freeway and lower volume freeway pavements will not affect the majority of work done by the Ontario Hot Mix Paving Association (OHMPA), says its technical director.
The criteria will allow bidders to submit a bid to construct either a hot mix asphalt or concrete pavement on certain projects.
Schaumburg, Illinois (June 13, 2012) – The final phase of the Roofing Design Center at the Rabine Group headquarters is completed. Phase one of the construction of the Rabine Academy Roof Design Center began in September of 2011. It happens almost every day during the summer: people duped into getting their driveways re-paved. It usually starts with a knock on your door -- con artists pretending to represent legitimate paving companies, and they just happen to have some extra asphalt from a nearby project they're working on.
Coal tar sealer has been used to seal asphalt pavements for many years but within the last few years there has been a great deal of research into new and more environmentally friendly products including asphalt based emulsion sealers.
People are familiar with the smell of the noxious odors emitted by a tar sealed pavement. Coal tar sealers can also burn the skin after prolonged or repeated contact.
It started last year on Bishop Street in Belize City and is continuing with two much-used streets.
