U.S. National Pervious Concrete Pavement Association appoints executive

The National Pervious Concrete Pavement Association, based in Kennesay, Georgia, announced this week its new senior officers.

Ready-mix concrete executive Frank A. Kozeliski is the NPCPA’s new president. The other new appointments are Vice-President Scott Erickson, Treasurer Lori Tiefenthaler and Secretary Heather Brown.

NPCPA is a not-for-profit group that aims to expand and improve the use of pervious concrete as a preferred paving method.

Schaumburg, Illinois (July 24, 2011) – Rabine Group is excited to welcome Cindy Back at the heels of the announcement about its newest national company, Roofing Solutions America. Man arrested for asphalt paving scam

A Bessemer man, 54 year old Tommy Stanley, Jr., was arrested and charged with two counts of home repair fraud after he allegedly took thousands of dollars from two residents for a poor quality paving job.

He is said to have charged a Town Creek resident $12,000 and a Hillsboro resident $4,400 before requesting an additional $7,700 to complete the paving job.

Rabine Group Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser

The Rabine Group Foundation held its third Annual Golf outing in Stockton, Illinois for the benefit of    sponsored non-profit organizations advocating for children, the elderly and medical research

 

Schaumburg, Illinois (July 19, 2011) – The Rabine Group Foundation recently hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Outing last July 15, 2011 at the Black Hawk Run Golf Club in Stockton, Illinois. More than a hundred golfers and dinner guests attended the event including clients, colleagues and friends of the Rabine Group companies.

 

This golf outing is the only fundraiser for the Rabine Group’s foundation that reaches outside of the Rabine Group companies and is one of the campaigns rolled out to support non-profit organizations advocating for children, the elderly and medical research. Green Fleet Briefing: McDonald’s, GM NatGas Cars, Hybrids Fall ShortAutomakers aren’t yet delivering the full fuel savings and pollution reduction benefits possible from hybrids, according to an annual hybrid scorecard released by the Union of Concerned Scientists. The UCS found that only 13 of 34 hybrids reviewed cut more than 25 percent of the greenhouse gases emitted by their conventional vehicle counterpart. The worst performing vehicle, the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, cuts GHGs by less than 10 percent, which was an all-time low on the scorecard.

Oil is back on the upswing, flying in the face of international efforts to keep prices low.

After an initial drop, crude-oil futures are back above the levels seen before the International Energy Agency in late June announced a plan to release 60 million barrels of oil from emergency stockpiles, ending Friday at $96.20 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The U.S. will release 30.6 million barrels toward that total.

Explosion damages Michigan asphalt paving company

Associated Press 2:30 p.m. CDT, July 5, 2011





GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich.—

A late morning fire and explosion that rocked a Livingston County asphalt paving company, sending heavy smoke billowing into the sky was under investigation, according to Green Oak Township fire officials. Budget Paving employees were on job sites and not at the company's building when nearby businesses reported hearing the explosion about 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, Fire Capt. Kory Rollison said.

The intent of the name change is to alleviate any confusion with valued customers and business partners.

Oil prices dipped right after the Obama administration announced it would tap reserves, but the price has rebounded. Gas prices, meanwhile, fell 7 cents a gallon in the past week, averaging about $3.54 a gallon.
