Study of Concrete Pavement Materials and Structure under Heavy-load Transportation
The heavy-load transportation is a worldwide problem, which has come to attention at home and abroad and has been researched. In this study, the construction techniques of cement concrete pavement under heavy-load transportation were researched from the two aspects of materials and makeup of pavement.1. The characteristic and mechanism of initial failures on cement concrete pavements underheavy-load transportation have been analyzed in this paper. Based on this, the countermeasure against cement concrete pavement destroying was addressed herein from pavement's material and makeup. Setting dowel in concrete transverse joints and pavement structural drainage system, choosing the base material of good performance at aspect of anti-pumping, can effectively prevent pavements pumping damages; Increasing the thickness or raising the flexure strength of concrete slab can prevent the initial fatigue failures.2. Federal-Mogul develops brushless fuel pump

Federal-Mogul, a supplier of powertrain and safety technologies, has developed an electrical brushless diesel fuel pump technology for on- and off-highway engines with improved durability to help heavy-duty vehicles work longer.
The electrical brushless fuel pumps were developed at the company's Logansport, Indiana technical center and are produced at its fuel delivery products manufacturing facility in Logansport in the US.
The technology suits 12V and 24V applications and is available for diesel engines used in the medium- and heavy-duty on-highway sector and in the construction, stationary, marine and agricultural sectors.

This is probably the first time you'll read an article about a pavement maintenance contractor who projects to reach $1 billion in sales in 10 years. That's right, billion. Rabine Group, an umbrella organization for nine companies - six directly related to paving and pavement maintenance - has set $1 billion as its 2021 target, and based on recent growth and plans already underway, CEO Gary Rabine says it's a very reachable goal.

The Rabine Group Foundation has partnered with Heartland Blood Centers to host a Blood Drive on July 12, 2011. Your participation would be greatly appreciated, especially as summer is the time when blood centers typically receive the least donations, but also have the most need for them. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. is in need of blood, and you can save up to three lives with just one donation. The first day of summer has finally arrived (although if you are in the Chicagoland area you know that it still seems like April Showers). This means that the paving, roofing, and construction season is kicking into high gear and that our crews and teams are working hard to meet our customers needs. At the same time, we are happy to recognize the one-year mark of our official relocation of our Corporate Headquarters to Schaumburg, IL. It is crazy how fast the time goes, but we are looking forward to another great year!
